Many years ago when I was doing work experience in the newsroom of 2CH, before becoming a full-time radio journalist, I would catch the train to their old building in the Sydney CBD which had a miniature Eiffel Tower on the roof. It was called the AWA Building (for Australasian Wireless Limited).

So an article referring to AWA caught my eye… but tragically it is about the demise of AWA. Apparently the company which started in 1909 has collapsed into administration. Very sad. It began life as a radio manufacturer-broadcaster then morphed into providing technology services to large business and government organisations. Sadly 240 personnel and a network of agents will be looking for another job.
