A national survey of small business owners has found that 51% want to see reduced taxes in the Gillard Government’s next budget… and 40% want to see a reduction in red tape (since this government has been in power the level of red tape has grown enormously). At the same time nearly half of those surveyed believe the next budget will be a hindrance to business growth.

86% have experienced cash flow issues in the past year mostly due to customers making excuses for slow payments.

The Bibby Barometer survey has also shown that many SMB owners are in a holding pattern as they wait for the election. 49% will not increase spending or investment in their business this year compared to 28% who say they will.

The survey organisers say “More needs to be done. The government needs to listen to the small business sector.”

That’s an understatement!
